Cork City North West
Mark Cronin (GP)
Mark is supportive of the CCMS and the ‘L2S’ greenway. He would like to see a cycling officer in City Hall and for the Roads Department to publish a maintenance schedule for cycle paths and shared paths.
Mark would also like to see some ‘bike sliders’ to help people push bikes up steep hills in the north-side and supports the expansion of the public bike share scheme into his ward.
A daily cyclist, Mark believes that Copenhagen is an example for Cork on how to promote cycling. Mark highlights that the Green Party are currently trying to pass legislation that will ensure state funding for transport will be two-to-one in favour of public transport and cycling.
